Friends are flowers that never fade . . .

Today is bittersweet . . . this will be my farewell and last post I, 1LuvnMama, will do as a DT member for La-La Land Crafts. It is with a sad heart that I have decided to bid farewell to Irina, the girls, and of course, Marci and Luka. My time is stretched thin and my "babies" need me.

When Irina asked me to join her team about a year and a half ago as a Guest Designer, I was so humbled and honored. Then I joined the ranks as a DT member along side some very talented and creative ladies whom I've come to admire. I will miss everyone! Thank you Irina for allowing me the opportunity to create for you! To the girls ~ May you inspire! And to everyone who comes by to visit ~ Thank you for your support and encouraging words!

On to my card. Since this is my last DT card, I found it fitting to use Marci with Flower, which is one of the new images being released this summer! The sentiment says it all for me . . . Friends are flowers that never fade. This is my tribute -- I've made wonderful friendships through La-La Land Crafts and I know I will continue those friendships!

Here Comes Trouble!

Happy Saturday La-La peeps! 1LuvnMama here to stir up some trouble . . . well, not me, it's Fireman Luka!

This is my second card using Fireman Luka. I just adore him because my hubby is a firefighter. Once again, I had to color him in the proper outfit my hubby would be wearing on the job. Wanna know where the inspiration came from?

This week, my son had a Water Play Day at school. The firefighters brought the yellow firetruck to the school yard and set up the hoses. You could probably guess what took place next . . . the kids got sprayed and had a blast!!! My son was right up front, trying to get the firefighters to spray him . . . he SUCCEEDED with every attempt! He is my little trouble maker, but it was nice to see him have so much fun!

Reaching Out . . .

Have you ever friend who was always there no matter what? Through the good times and the bad? I'm sure you all have your "BFF" right there at your side.

Today, I (1LuvnMama) am sharing a card showcasing Ballerina Marci. She was one of the first in a series of Marci's created by Irina and Eric. I just luv how she's reaching and extending out her hand . . . really went well with the sentiment I paired her up with.

Celebrating Today . . .

Are you enjoying your weekend thus far? I (1LuvnMama) have a full weekend of activities, one of them celebrating Mother's Day with my family. As the title says, "Celebrating Today . . .", it's actually meant for Sunday, which is Mother's Day. Today, I'm sharing a card I will give to my mother-in-law.

This is Darling Marci. I immediately picked up this stamp because my MIL has the same hair style. Not only that, she is a DARLING, literally! She's like a second mom and has always been there for me, my hubby, and my kids! I wanted to honor her on this special day.

My sweet friend and former La-La Land Crafts sister, Kristine, made a Stand Up Card and I was tempted to try it out. Click {HERE} to see Kris' post. She also gives a tutorial as well. This card is kept very simple. I wanted Marci to be the focal point with little distraction. I didn't add too many embellishments, besides a few butterflies, flourishes, and a bow.

Here's the top view of the Stand Up Card. I tweaked the measurements on my card so that I could fit the frame around Darling Marci.

You Make Me Smile!

Hi there, 1LuvnMama here! I've got a quick post and a card to share with y'all!

Here is Capri Marci. I just luv her casualness and laid back style. I suppose that's why I went with this simple and laid back card. The doily has so much detail in it already, I didn't want to overdo it.

I colored her with copics and paper pieced her shirt. A few pearls, some flowers, a button and floss . . . that's it! :)

Move over Chef Marci . . . Someone new is taking over the bakery!

Well, well, 1LuvnMama is back with a La-La Land Crafts post.

My son, along with the rest of the Kindergartners at his school, performed in a play/musical . . . Jack & the Beanstalk. He was a cook. My card that I'm sharing today was inspired by my son's performance. I used Chef Marci & Amour Luka. How did I use both images? I altered the two images - - I wanted the chef's outfit without Marci's face/hair. Amour Luka was the perfect fit with his long pants. This is how it came out!

Here's a closer look at Chef Luka. I hope Irina, owner of La-La Land Crafts, would be proud of me that I created a "boy" chef. :)

Well, my boy made me proud! He had me beaming from ear to ear after watching him perform. I hope this inspires you to create . . . have a great weekend!

True Friendship Needs No Words

Well, hello there, 1LuvnMama here! I'm back to share another creation with you. I made a card using Sweetheart Marci. Can you tell I went a little wild with all the hearts! At first glance, the colors seem so patriotic . . . nothing wrong with that right? The bold, rich reds and blues fit perfectly for Sweetheart Marci as she holds her strung hearts. You'll be able to get her {HERE}. I colored Sweetheart Marci with Distress Inks and kept the layout pretty simple.

I hope you're having a pleasant Saturday! It's me, 1LuvnMama. I'm here to share with you a card I made using Capri Marci. She is part of the Playtime Collection which you can purchase {HERE}.

Simple and to the point . . . I reckon I achieved that! Along with this card, I made a little gift bag using my Sizzix Bigz XL Bag w/ Scallops. Just add some candies or some other goodies inside and it will surely put a smile on any one's face!

Wonderful Things . . .

Hello La-La peeps, 1LuvnMama here! Boy, has life been nuts around here! My son had Spring Break last week -- in the midst of trying to get things done during that time, he got sick. Then, my hubby got sick . . . and what do you know? I got sick over the weekend. Our Spring Break wasn't so fun, just trying to recover. Now, my poor baby is sick. Like Kim said, something is going around. Praying everyone stays healthy! :)

On to my post. Here is my card for La-La Land Crafts. Meet Dress Up Marci. She is one of 3 new images that's been released. You can find her {HERE} for purchase.

I could totally picture myself trying to dress up like my mom as a youngster. I used to try on her heels and walk around the house like a grown-up. Oh, the wonderful things in life! I paper pieced her and used my copics to create shadows on her hat and dress.

Hey HOT STUFF!

1LuvnMama is here with today's post. I hope you have a hanky in hand to wipe away your sweat . . . some HOT STUFF is coming your way! :) It's Fireman Luka, one of the 3 new images released this week! You can get him in digi form {HERE}. Don't worry, you will be able to get him in rubber real soon.

I jumped at the opportunity to create with this hunk because my hubby is a firefighter. If you're not familiar with the Honolulu Fire Department's firetrucks, you'll be surprised that our trucks are YELLOW, not red. As you can see, Fireman Luka is dressed just as a HFD firefighter would be dressed . . . blue shirt tucked inside his yellow turnouts. He wears black boots and a black helmet. Yes, the straps holding up his pants are red.

I thought I'd create a little scene for him. He's right on time to put that fire out!

Here's a close-up of Fireman Luka along with his trusted pal, Tuffy. Check out his pants . . . I sponged some Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink to create the BLACK SOOT from firefighting. Too funny! :)

SPICING Up Your Birthday!

Happy Saturday, 1LuvnMama here! Before I get started with this post, I just want to offer a prayer to the people of Japan after the devastating earthquake followed by a massive tsunami. I do have family that reside there and I'm happy to report that all are well. Hawai`i was put on alert. We were all bracing for what was to come and thankfully we're all okay.

Now, on to my card. I used Sugar n' Spice Marci. The moment I saw her, I think about {BIRTHDAYS}. You can get her over at the La-La Land Crafts Online Store, {HERE}. I punched out this cupcake border (EK Success) and added hearts to the cupcakes. The hearts came from the Magnolia DooHickey Romantic Tag. I just colored the hearts with my copic marker and added some Glossy Accents to give them a shiny appearance.

Here's the pull out tag with a sweet sentiment.

Thank you Irina and the team for your support during this time of transition! You know I've been {THINKING OF YOU} gals and seeing all the wonderful creations! With that said, I created a card using Fancy Dress Marci.

She is so adorable! Fancy Marci is framed inside of a heart shaped doily. I actually cut out the inside to show the pretty rose paper behind her.

A Short Term Farewell and a Votive . . .

Hey Gang, 1LuvnMama here! Don't let the title of this post scare you. Although this is my last post for La-La Land Crafts Blog, I'll be back at some point. My farewell is for a short time since I'm awaiting the arrival of my little guy. Like I said, I wanted to go out with a BANG with this post. I hope you'll stick with me because I have lots of photo shots to share with you!

For my project, I made a Votive Card using a tea light. I saw this on Splitcoaststampers some time ago and thought I'd give it a try. I made this Votive Card two-sided . . . one in a Halloween theme and the other in a Christmas theme.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

This is the top view looking down on the tea light.

I wanted to show what the Votive Card looks like with the lights dimmed and the tea light on.

How did I make this card? Here's the dimensions . . .

I cut a piece of CS at 8-1/2" x 12". On the 8-1/2" side, I scored the CS in half at 4-1/4". Turn the CS around to the 12" side and score at 3", 6", and 9". Using an Exacto knife, cut on the score line from the 3" mark to 9" mark. This will give you an opening for the tea light. Decorate as you wish and adhere the two ends shut. You can make the dimensions any size you want, it's totally up to you. I hope my directions make sense . . . I'm not good at tutorials. You can actually fold up this Votive Card and tie a ribbon around it to give as a gift.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I enjoyed making it. I know I'll keep this out in the next couple of months. Be sure to visit the Online Store to get your Marci & Luka stamps. They are perfect for the upcoming holidays!

Wintery Christmas Wishes . . .

Hello there! It's 1LuvnMama. Who's in the mood for Christmas? Halloween is just a week away and then Christmas is just around the corner. What better way than to start making those Christmas cards for your loved ones!

When I first saw this image of Winter Marci, I fell head over heels for her! I just luv her wintery outfit! Too bad I live in such a warm place . . . Hawai'i. I would definitely want to wear this!

Here is Winter Marci! She was so much fun to color . . . I used my Basic Grey Wisteria paper in cool blues.

Here she is up close . . . don't you luv her pearl buttons? I added snowflakes to the centers of the flowers.

It's a bird, it's a plane, NO it's Star Boy Luka! :) He's here to save the day . . .

I created a 4" easel card and embossed the background with my Star Embossing folder. The window behind Super Star Luka and the sentiment is from the Super Hero Window Set.

It's hard to see in the picture but I used my Glossy Accents clear, dimensional embellishment for the moon, the belt buckle and Luka's star emblem.
