La-La Land Crafts 18 Days Of Christmas - Day 17

Welcome to the La-La Land Crafts 18 Days Of Christmas!

Hi, everyone! Amanda here for day 17!

Only a few days left of this Christmas season and it has me all sentimental. Growing up my Grandma would give each of us grandkids a gift, a toy or one year she gave us all afghans. That took a lot of time for 8 grandkids
We loved all the things Grandma and Grandpa would get us, but for me, there was always the 1 thing I would wait anxiously for…
The revealing of our Christmas ornament.
Every year my Grandma would spend time searching for just the right Christmas ornament for each of her Grandkids. No one got the same surprisingly!
It was such a fun time for me to get one each year, and now that I am grown and have my own family I have all of my Christmas ornaments from them on our tree.
It brings back such happy memories, that when my kids were born I started the same tradition for them, so they will have a tree full of Christmas ornaments from each year.

Ok now onto the card…
I thought I would create a Christmas ornament shaker card in honor of my Grandma's Christmas gifts.

Products used:

Copic markers used:
Coat- R27,R37
Shoes- C5,C7,C9
Chimney- E35, E15, E37

I cut the stitched circle die 3 times out of white, gray and acetate. Then I used the smaller die on the white cardstock to create a window.
I took the acetate circle and glued it to the white frame to create the window.
After I colored up the Santa and the chimney, I splattered some white paint to create a snow effect.
I used some star-shaped glitter for the shaker and placed on my 3D foam dots, so the shaker can shake.
I used the snowcap from the top of the chimney for the top of my ornament shaker.

I hand cut the banner out of kraft cardstock, and then I used that paper pack little merry Christmas and cut with my rectangles scalloped die for the backdrop of my card.

Well, that’s my card project for today. I hope you enjoyed and have a very Merry Christmas!

I am the grandma now and I also started a tradition of giving my Grandchildren and tree ornament every year. Some I have made and some I have bought. I always make sure the year is on it. I hope that when they leave home they will have enough for their first Christmas tree.
