Tutorial Thursday - Advent houses with lights

Hi!

Tamara here with you. Today I'll show you how to make 4 advent houses with tea lights.

It's a simple design and you can use a lot of different dies, stamps and embellishments to decorate it.

PRODUCTS:
Stitched Scallops Border Die

Other supplies:
white cardstock
design paper
scissors
scoring board
paper trimmer
double sided adhesive
liquid adhesive
glue gun

Step 1:
Take white cardstock (300g) and cut two ractangles:
(1) 6.5" x 4 3/4" (base/bottom)
(2) 9" x 1 3/4" (roof piece)

Make folds at:
(1) 1.5" from each side
(2) 2.5" - 4.5" - 6.5"

... cut and fold like shown on the picture.

Step 2:
Take your dies and cut 2 3.5" x 1.5" rectangles. One from blue design paper and one from white cardstock. Use cloud border on the top of the blue one and double stitched hill border on the white one.
Make die cuts. For one box you need:
1 cloud piece
1 white piece
half of the lights
number 1-4
4 stitched borders
1 small pennant

Step 3:
Cut two rectangles from design paper measuring 1 3/8" x 1 5/8".

Step 4:
Glue together the bottom part of the box.

Glue small rectangles from part 3 to both edges of the long rectangle.

Step 5:
Measure the width of the roof and cut 5 pieces for each side (to get 5 pieces you need to glue together 2 borders and then start cutting). You need 5 for each side of the roof.

Step 6:
Glue the roof piece to the base.

Step 7:
Decorate the front.

Add a number for each week of the Advent.

Put a battery operated tea light inside. Don't use a candle!!!

I added small windows on each side of the house.

Step 8:
Add some glitter and there you are!!

Hugs, t.
