Everything grows better with love...

Nothing could be more true, right!? Everything DOES grow better with love.

It's been so exciting getting to see each of the new La-La Land Crafts   Summer 2011 Collection creations! With each new introduction, my smile got bigger! I thought for my first day out with the summer crew that I would work with Marci with Flower.  Here she is!

I used my trusty Copic markers to color Marci in:
Hair: E40, E42
Skin: E51, E53 (cheeks R20 )
Shirt: R81, R83, R85
Denim Capris: B93, B95, B97
Flower pot: E04, E07, E09
Outer Shading: C1, C3
I also used Copic Atyou Spica glitter pens on he hair ties, flower, and garden tool.

The paper used for the scalloped oval and first light blue layer is from DCWV Garden Party.  The white card stock is my go-to Neenah white.  The very slightly visible second rectangle layer is from the DCWV Citrus stack and the actual card is also Neenah.  Both ovals are from Spellbinders and I'm sorry, I can't say where I got all the flowers because I have a wonderful HUGE bin of assorted flowers that I get to dig into.

So, there you have it! I hope she makes you smile...because really...that is truly the purpose for me to make anything and everything...smiles.

Aloha always,
Renate'

Sweet Thing Panda...

Happy Sunday La-La Land Friends!

I love working with wood and thought I'd alter a pre-cut tag with our sweet little Panda.  He or she is paper pieced with beautiful paper from the Colorbok Flea Market collection and given just a little bit of dimension with Copic Sketch Marker C3.  The nose and ears are filled in with a Sakura pink Souffle pen.

Hope ya like it!

Mom's Day!

Hi! Ok, here is something a bit different to share with my La-La Land Crafts family.  I altered Darling Marci by leaving out the bow and adding a #1 and drawing in some knee high sport socks.  Then I added Football Luka's helmet.

Here is the inspiration for the altered Marci...I never turned out to be a princess type daughter like most mothers dream of having.  I've been into sports and hanging out with the guys since I was a little girl, but of course that doesn't mean my mom isn't great.  The only problem is...I don't have a clever saying!!!  I have ideas about the message I want to convey...but no smarts as to how to do that.  Please SUGGEST! HELP! Ideas??

Here is the original image so you can see the alterations...

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful moms!

Homemade sugar and spice...

Hi! Renate' here to share some homemade sweets with you today! I love cupcakes, so how could I resist using my awesome La-La Land Crafts super sweet Sugar & Spice Marci for today's first contribution to the La-La Land Blog?!  She's stamped on Neena Brilliant White cardstock and colored in with Copic Markers.  All the paper is from the DCWV Mama's Kitchen Stack and I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Curved Rectangles to frame out our little friend.

Thanks for taking a peek! Don't forget to upload any creations you've made using our Marci and Luka line into the CUSTOMER GALLERY.

Buh-bye for now!

A little hello...

Hello everyone! Time to share my second contribution to the La-La family.  Could not resist using my lil' La-La Land Crafts Panda! He is too sweet and cuddly and just waiting for a hug. HUG HIM!! You'll feel great!  When I get stuck or frustrated with a project, my boyfriend always reminds me to keep my cards simple, "Don't try to do EVERYTHING on one card.  Just say it simply."  I think I was able to do that here.  The paper is My Mind's Eye - Quite Contrary with a touch of color from my trusty Copic markers. I hope you enjoy!

And don't forget to upload your projects at our CUSTOMER GALLERY! Sharing is gooood!

sweet tag for you...

Aloha everyone!  My friend Leanne and I were introduced to La-La Land Crafts at the recent Winter CHA when we were asked to help out at the booth.  The experience was phenomenal!  We had a great connection not only with the characters of La-La Land, but with Mama and Papa La-La (as we like to call them), Irina and Eric.  After an unbelievably successful CHA debut, we were so happy to be asked to join the team as guest designers.  So, here it is, my debut in the blogging world and as part of a design team.  Hope you like it!  It's Chef Marci, by the way...
