Inspiration Monday - {Something For Dad}

Before we get to this week's Inspiration Monday post, it's Rosie here to announce our Design Team changes for Team Monday. I'd first like to say a huge THANK YOU to Tracy Valure and Jing van Opstal for their AWESOME work while on our Design Team. They have moved on to pursue other things, but we know we'll see these ladies in blogland! :)

June started a new term for La-La Land Crafts so I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our newest full-time Design Team Members, Sara Winter and Renee Ludlow. Sara has been with us the last couple of months as GDT, but has now moved up to our full-time DT. Renee is new and has joined Team Monday as full-time DT. I know you will love what these ladies do with Marci and Luka!!

In addition, we have a NEW Guest Designer, Becky Hetherington. Becky made a card for us on Friday for our Aussie Release Showcase, and will join us next week for our next Inspiration Monday Challenge. Becky's distress ink coloring is fabulous and I know you'll be amazed by her stunning cards!

Happy December!!  Can you believe it's the first of December already??  Only 24 more days til Christmas!!  (Although the true spirit of Christmas can last all year!)  I'd like to give a big warm welcome to our newest Guest Designer for the next few months... Cindy Haffner!!  She will be posting here on Friday afternoons.  *Ü*

For my first card, I used "Formal Luka"  ... isn't he handsome in his Fall suit?  He works well for a congrats card... Happy Father's Day... Masculine Birthday... Date night invite *wink*...  and many other occassions!

Formal Luka

Hi Guys - it's Debbie here again to bring you a little bit of La-La Land inspiration! I love this little guy - this is Formal Luka and he could be used for sooo many different occasions - for example graduation, a new job, birthday, Christmas. I've left this pretty open as my sentiment is non specific. The DPs are from Basic Grey's Jovial paper pad but the ones I've used aren't just for Christmas and work really well here - I just loved the brightness of the tartan with Luka's suit and tie.

Don't forget Formal Luka and Fancy Marci are available as digis for only a limited time - once the rubber is instore they'll be gone as digis - check them out HERE!

I used last week's Sketch Saturday sketch #130 and rotated it - I know it's too late to enter it there this time, but the sketch was too great NOT to use.

Thankful, Fancy Marci and Formal Luka

Hello and Happy {almost} Thanksgiving to you! I'm Shantaie here to share a Fancy, Formal Thanksgiving card with you...Fancy Marci and Formal Luka that is :)

Wouldn't you agree that this is a very good looking couple? I just had to color them both for this project, I couldn't bear to separate them! I love how the rich fall colors give Marci and Luka a whole new look, its so amazing how many different ways you can use these stamps!

My little Fancy Marci and Formal Luka are colored with prisma pencils, and coordinate with the gorgeous Teresa Collins Giving Thanks papers. These adorable images are available for a limited time as digital stamps, so don't delay..in fact why not pick up the pair as a Christmas gift for yourself! ;-)

Vintage scrapbooking can be fun!

Hey everyone, Jana here! Before I get to my project, I have some exciting news for you all - LaLa Land is having a HUGE sale TOMORROW, the Friday BEFORE Black Friday! I have to admit, I don't often scrapbook with paper anymore having switched over to digital scrapbooking recently, but when I sat down to work with the newest Marci and Luka images (only available digi right now, but rubber is coming SOON) all I could picture is this photo of my parents taken over 50 years ago when they were in high school and going to a formal dance. Of course, no one can FIND the photo now...but as soon as I do I'll be scanning it in to fit onto this page!

Since I know the photos is black and white, I wanted those to be the primary colors on the page. However, I also know that my mom's dress was blue, so I wanted to add a touch of blue. I thought marina mist would work well. I used some new SU! dsp for the base of the page, then I created my photo layer (the vanilla) with the 2 mats (black and marina mist) and I put those on top of the Marina Mist satin ribbon layered under the lace. I added the satin bow on top (along wtih a little extra narrow vanilla grosgrain) and then added the rhinestone accent as well.

For my stamped images, I printed them on vanilla cs and colored them with my W00, 01, 03, 05 and 07 markers. Then I added just a touch of blue (B93) to both Marci and Luka (see if you can spot his, it's pretty small!) I cut them both out and then created ovals for them using more dsp layered on some Marina Mist cs. Don't Marci and Luka look adorable all dressed up for their prom?

The first one is a card, this was one of the cards for our Make-and-Take projects.. Simple, but CUTE!!
