Hello, Hello! Irina is here to introduce Summer Hills-Painter of, our Blog Guest today with an AMAZING Tutorial. You can see Summer's work on her blog, click HERE.
Take it away Summer! :-)
To begin you will
need to cut three sets of flowers from your cardstock. This will make two
complete flowers for you, one large and one small. You will need two of the largest petal, three
of the next size, two of the next, and three of the smallest. You will also cut
the center shape 8 times. In this example I used yellow for the center. You
will also need to cut the leaf twice using green cardstock.
To make the large
flower, use the two largest petals and the three next sized petals. Using a
stylus and a foam mat (this one is just a cut up mouse pad), start in the
center of the flower and pull outward, cupping the petals.
Repeat this step
for all five petals. I gradually get tighter and tighter with my cupping of
each layer.
Next repeat the cupping process with four of the flower centers.
Now it is time for
assembly! Using the two largest, petals glue together offsetting the petals.
Repeat the same
progress for the three middle petals, followed by the flower center
Next glue the
center into the middle portion
Then adhere the top
portion to the base
Next, the edges
were inked using Peeled Paint Distress ink.
And finally the
leaf was glued to the flower
I love the look of
these flowers! Here is an altered canvas
that I made using these flowers and the Kimono Marci digital image.
Thank you for
taking a peek.
