Tutorial Thursday - Box in a Bag

Hi! It's Sandie here today and I want to share a cute Box in a Bag project.

La-La Land Crafts products used:
Stamps: Happy Day Set
Dies: Tabs Border, Stitched Tags, Grass Border

Other supplies:
Pink card
White card
Coordinating heavy weight designer paper
Ribbons & twine
Hole punch
Scoring board and bone folder
Adhesive

How To:
Cut a piece of card measuring 4.5" and score at 1" on all 4 sides.

Cut on each corner up to the score line, to make tabs, and taper the edges.

Apply adhesive to the outsides of each of the tabs

Fold the tabs inswards and adhere to the inside to make a box

Cut a piece of heavy weight patterned paper measuring 5.5" x 11". Apply adhesive along the bottom of the 11" side and on one end of the 5.5" side.

Remove the backing from the tape and position the box/tray on the end, as shown

Roll the box along, adhering the patterned paper to each side.

Pinch the corners of the patterned papers, where the box is. Once you have all 4 sides covered, remove the tape backing from the 5.5" side and fold over the opposite end.

Using a bone folder, burnish well from the inside, to make sure the seam bonds well.

Cut some Tabs border strips, a grass border and 2 reinforcers from the Stitched Tags Set.

Cut the Tabs Borders in half and adhere the pink one on top of the white one, as shown.

Adhere to the bottom of the box, on each side.

Fold the reinforcers in half and stick to the centre top of the bag. Using a crop-a-dile or similar hole punch, make a hold in the centre.

Repeat on the opposite side, lining up the holes.

Stamp and colour the image using your preferred medium.

Cut a Stitched Tag from a light coloured patterned paper, or plain card.

Fussy cut the image, using a craft knife for those awkward bits.

Cut the grass border to size and adhere at the bottom of the tag. Using 3D foam dots, stick the teddy down onto the tag.

Thread ribbons and twine through the holes on the bag, pull the sides in and tie in a bow.

Add matching ribbon/twine to the tag and adhere to the front of the bag, applying adhesive only up to where the tag indents.

Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of white card, leaving enough room to punch a hole at the end.

Thread twine through the hole and tie to the bow.

This completes the project. You can fill the bag with cookies, candy or even a little gift.

Thanks for popping in!
