How to Use La-La Land Craft Dies using Grand Calibur!!!!

Hi Everyone, It's Karen here....

Today I am going to show you how to use the new La-La Land Craft dies using a Spellbinder Grand Calibur machine.

This Machine is really easy to use, and I find it does a better job with thin dies than my Big Shot.  With the Grand Calibur there is no need for paper shims or anything like that... it's just a load, cut, and go!!

So today I'm using the Street Lamp Die, one of the Butterflies from the Butterfly Set 1 Die's, and the Filigree Corner Die - all of these dies are available now at La La Land Crafts or at your La-La Land Crafts retailer in Australia.  (If you live in Australia or New Zealand, you can only buy the dies from your local store within Australia)

Okay, so first up, you need your Grand Calibur Machine, and two plates - Cutting Plate C and Base Plate A. Your dies and some card or paper

First lay down your dies, cutting side up onto your Base Plate A as shown below

Then lay your card over the top of the dies, ensuring that you have the "right side" of the card facing down... if you are using one sided patterned paper the pattern would be facing down.

Next lay your Cutting Plate C on the top of the dies and paper to make a sandwich. Then place it in your machine to roll through to cut the shapes.  I like to roll mine through the machine twice, just to make sure that all the pieces are cut correctly.

When you remove the cutting plate you can see that all the dies have cut through the black card stock and shown below.

When I remove the bulk of the paper I am left with my dies with the paper inside. It is really easy to remove the paper from the dies - simply by tipping them over... the paper should just fall out.  Well it does for me, most of the time...  but sometimes I have to use my paper die pick or a pin,  to help push it out. The dies have little holes on the back for just this job if you need to :-)

Now it's just a matter of removing the little cut bits from the die cut, then you will be left with your Street Lamp, Butterfly and Filigree Corner die cuts.... now it's time to put them on a card!!

This is my card that I used my die cuts on... It's Travel Marci. I have coloured her with my Copic's and used some bright Amy Tangerine Paper to set her off.  My die cuts look so awesome in black, you can really see all the details of them:-)
