Inspiration Friday - "Monochrome!"

Hello there friends! This is Arlene, your host for today.

Welcome to another Inspiration Friday here on the
La La Land Crafts blog!

This week's theme is...

MONOCHROME

What's monochrome you say? Here's a quick definition to help...

For an image, the term monochrome is usually taken to mean the same as black and white or, more likely, grayscale, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, such as green-and-white or green-and-black. It may also refer to sepia displaying tones from light tan to dark brown or cyanotype (“blueprint”) images, and early photographic methods such as daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes, each of which may be used to produce a monochromatic image. -- wikipedia.com

So without further adieu, here's today's line-up!

Copics:
Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20, R11, (R22 lips)
Roses - R24, R22, R20, G21

Good Times

Hi everyone - GDT Debbie here to let you know that I've had some good times with La-La Land Crafts but now it's time to say goodbye! I've finished my 4 months as a GDT member and this is my last post as part of the team - but it doesn't mean I'm done with playing with LLLC images - I just adore Marci and Luka and can't wait to see what else they get up too - watch out for me in the Customer Gallery - LOL!!

I want to thank Irina and the DT for having me on board - it was a BLAST - especially when I saw some of the CHA pictures and I could see MY CARDS sitting there - LOL. Maybe next year it will be ME and not just my cards playing at CHA, it's not toooo far from Australia is it?!?!?!?

This cutie is Darling Marci and you can find here instore HERE. My DP is from my Basic Grey Curio paper pad and the border was punched using MS punches.

Thanx again La-La Land for having me along and all the very best to the new gals coming in to play.

A Fiery Redhead

Hi everyone GDT Debbie here again. When I started to colour up this cutie I decided I hadn't honoured all the gorgeous redheads out there recently! I tend to stick to brunettes - with the occasional blonde - so it was time to try out a redheaded gal - I reckon it suits this little Marci - but maybe I should have added a few freckles - LOL.

Copic Colors for Marci's hair:
YR00, YR04, YR07 and E08

This cutie is Sweetheart Marci and you can get her in rubber HERE or as a digi HERE.

This was one of those times when I coloured my image first and THEN went to look for DP in my stash to hopefully match (I do this more often than not actually). I was rapt when I discovered my neglected Kaisercraft Lush paper Pad - it was a perfect fit!

Get Well Soon

Hi Everyone - GDT Debbie popping in to show you my recent creation. Today I have another of the the CHA releases - these guys are available for a limited time only as digis HERE. This is the adorable Doctor Marci. With this cute image, pastel colours, glitter and flowers I'm hoping this will end up brightening someone's day when they need it!

My DP is from 7 Gypsies and the ticket sentiments are digis from Bizzy Becs. I've used my clear spica pen on the headlamp to make it look like it's alight. I LOVE my spica pens but boy I wish they would photograph - at least you can see glimpses of glitter from the stickles!

Magician Luka and Pilot Luka

Hi Everyone - GDT Debbie here - I've been MIA on a family holiday so am back with not one but TWO cards to show you today - these are the cards I sent off to Irina for CHA. It's been sooo hard to keep these cuties a secret but now we can start showing them to you - woohooo. Meet Pilot Luka - one of La-La Land Crafts latest releases - available HERE in digital form - the rubber is still about 3 weeks away for those you want to know!

What kid hasn't used a cardboard box to play pretend in - although coming from an all girl family the boxes in our house tended to be used to make "shops" or "houses" rather than aeroplanes - LOL. And how fun is it to see Luka's dog Tuffy going along for the ride! I used some Liquid Applique on his fur collar and hat to add some dimension.

And this one is Magician Luka - you gotta love his tight curls. I decided he looked like my kids when they put on a "pretend" show for us - so I created a stage for him - every magician needs a stage, just like my kids did when they hung sheets up over the washing line for their productions!

Something Sweet For You!

Hi everyone - GDT Debbie here to show off one of the latest releases that has just come out in rubber - Sugar n' Spice Marci. She's soo cute with her little heart topped cupcake and apron. I have used some fabulous DP from the Nook and Pantry range by Basic Grey - it's a perfect match for Marci. The ticket sentiments are digis from Bizzy Bec's  and just seemed to be the right finishing touch!

And don't forget if you use a LLLC image you should enter it into the customer gallery for a chance to win a prize.

Best Wishes for 2011 from Darling Marci

Hi everyone - GDT Debbie here on the first day of 2011 - wow! I'm sure you've met this gorgeous new image from La-La Land Crafts here before, but in case you missed it her name is Darling Marci. She is the first seated Marci and I just LOVE her. Marci and I would like to wish all of you out there in blogland all the very best for 2011 - I hope it's a great year!

I used the gorgeous Basic Grey Kioshi paper pad and paper pieced Marci's dress. The layout is last week's Friday Sketchers sketch #134, and even though I'm too late for the challenge I felt the sketch was too fabulous NOT to use! Her cute little party shoes are all glittered up for New Year's.

You can buy Marci and Luka as a digis here on the blog or get them as  a rubber stamp in the store

Remember if you create something with any La-La stamps or digis, please share with us in the customer gallery! Once a month we have a Customer Appreciation Day and one of you will win a prize!

And don't forget our HUGE
END OF YEAR SALE
- check out the details HERE.

It's a Bit Chilly Here!

Hi everyone - GDT Debbie here from a not so Summery Australia. Unfortunately where I live in Melbourne we have NOT had a terribly warm start to Summer! In fact there is even talk the mountain areas may get SNOW!!! A White Christmas in Australia - who knows when or IF that has ever happened?!?!?!

Anyway - I decided to stamp up Winter Marci  as I'm in the mood for rugging up and wrapping my hands around a hot cocoa! I've used some Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage DPs to create the background and a doily to add in some softness. I had made the tiny tags double sided by popping the sentiment on both sides and then glueing them together with the thread in the middle - but I discovered wet stickles on red flowers REALLY messes up computer generated words when they fly up and hit it!!! If you pulled the tags off their dimensionals and turned them over you would see what I mean - LOL.

Remember if you create something with any La-La stamps or digis, please share with us in the customer gallery! Once a month we have a Customer Appreciation Day and one of you will win a prize!

How Much is that Doggy in the Window?

To all our Southern California Fans!!  Come see us at our Trunk Shows next weekend!!!  Click HERE for more information.

Hiya Everyone - GDT Debbie here today with my Spotlight on Tuffy! This little guy often gets overlooked in favour of Marci and Luka, but if you check out the AMAZING creations the LLLC DT have come up with this week you'll wonder why???? He comes in a set of 4 fabulous poses along with some sentiments and other doggy related images - available HERE.

Now I couldn't decide WHICH Tuffy to use so I masked them all together for a bit of "pet shop" fun. I've always loved the song that inspired my sentiment - especially when I come home and see my own pooch sitting in my front window waiting for me. I used some of the gorgeous papers Betty from Simply Betty Stamps sent me - they are a mix of 2 brands - My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup (music notes) and Bella Road Everybody Loves Christmas (stripes).

Remember if you create something with any La-La stamps or digis, please share with us in the customer gallery! Once a month we have a Customer Appreciation Day and one of you will win a prize!

Caroling Luka

Hi everyone - GDT Debbie here - I just HAD to get this little guy stamped off and coloured up before Christmas came and went - he's just soooo darn CUTE! And doesn't he make you just start humming carols in your head?!?!?! His name is Caroling Luka and you can find him over at La-La Land Crafts Store HERE

I didn't want poor Luka to look too girly - especially as I used this fabulous Websters Christmas DP with flowers on - so I added in some black elements and a cobweb ribbon. I used some liquid applique to add dimension to the 'fur' on his jacket - but then applied some star dust stickles over it - just to add some Christmas sparkle - I couldn't help myself - LOL. I also 'blinged' up the holly berries on the wreath with some red stickles.

And if you have some LLLC cards made why not link them in our customer gallery HERE for a chance to win a prize!

Formal Luka

Hi Guys - it's Debbie here again to bring you a little bit of La-La Land inspiration! I love this little guy - this is Formal Luka and he could be used for sooo many different occasions - for example graduation, a new job, birthday, Christmas. I've left this pretty open as my sentiment is non specific. The DPs are from Basic Grey's Jovial paper pad but the ones I've used aren't just for Christmas and work really well here - I just loved the brightness of the tartan with Luka's suit and tie.

Don't forget Formal Luka and Fancy Marci are available as digis for only a limited time - once the rubber is instore they'll be gone as digis - check them out HERE!

I used last week's Sketch Saturday sketch #130 and rotated it - I know it's too late to enter it there this time, but the sketch was too great NOT to use.
One more reminder.. Irina has a Blog CANDY on her blog right now, check it out!!

Fancy Marci Celebrates Christmas

Hi everyone - Debbie here. I hope you all managed to grab some gorgeous stamps for yourself in the LLLC sale yesterday - woohooo - who doesn't love a bargain?!?!?!

SALE EXTENDED!!!  We had such a great response to our "Friday BEFORE Black Friday SALE" that we decided to extend it throughout the weekend, until 11 PM PST on SUNDAY!!!  If you didn't get the opportunity to shop our sale on Friday, here is your second chance!!!!  Details HERE..

Last week saw the release of 2 new images from La-La Land Crafts - this is one of them. This is Fancy Marci and she's all dressed up to celebrate Christmas here. She is such a dream to colour up and looks adorable in many different colour combos - I just love her cute little pose.

My DP is from Basic Grey and I cut the poinsettia flowers using a My Time Made Easy template and my craft robo. I downsized the template so didn't use all the layers.

Fancy Marci is available for a limited time only as a digi before she comes out in rubber - check her out HERE.

You're a Star Marci

Hi everyone - Debbie here - I wanted to show you a gift box I made for my daughter's figure skating coach. Ice Skating Marci was the natural choice for this and I added her to the gift tag - there's room on the back for a personal message. I'll be popping in some home baked goodies or chocolates.
The box is a Lauren Meader template called Star of the Show and is super easy to make - especially as she provides cut files if you have a machine to do the cutting for you! The tag and label were made using Papertrey Ink dies and stamps. But Marci is definately the star of THIS show! Check her and her friends out at the La-La Land Store.

Have you seen our new stamps, Fancy Marci and Formal Luka?  They are available as digis for a LIMITED time ONLY and the rubber stamps are coming soon!!  Click HERE to buy.

My First Post for La-La Land

Hi everyone - my name is Debbie I'm just sooooo excited to be here as GDT for La-La Land for the next few months - it's a long way from Australia to La-La Land but the trip is sooo worth it - LOL! I thought my first post should be all about celebrating - and what better way that with the gorgeous Birthday Marci. I just LOVE her sweeeeet face - she would bring a smile to anyone's face - a bit like the HUGE grin I had when I got invited to play over here!

I've paired her with some Pink Paislee DP and some shapes cut using my nesties. The small tassle is from Christina Re. The border punch is Martha Stewart.

Thanx for having me - and like Arnie says - I'll Be Back!
