Create a SCENE - Mod Marci (prismacolor)

I was so inspired by the makes from our amazing Design Team, I just had to play along to create a project with a scene!

I colored this scene with Prismacolor Pencils instead of Copics this time. I added grass and flowers with pencils to complete the scene. I am really amazed at the results that can be achieved with pencils!

"Prismacolor Workshop - Coloring on Craft Cardstock".

WHEN: Sunday, January 15th, 12 pm to 5 pm

WHERE: Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale, CA

*Please note: we will not be making this project at the workshop. This is just a coloring sample.

The scene is mounted on the 7" x 7" frame from Ikea and embellished with various dies and punches. Leave brunches are dies from Cheery Lynn. Daisy is from the exclusive die set from Scrap Happy Ohio. Small flower is a punch by EK Success and Rolled Roses were cut with my Silhouette. Pearl Pen in Cream was used in the centers of the small flowers.

Inspiration Monday-- Make a Scene

Good Monday Morning to ya from me, Rosie! :) Now that the holidays are over, are you getting geared up for 2012?! Hard to believe we are 9 days into the New Year! So, do you know what's right around the corner, other than Valentine's Day?

CHA baby!! Yes, that's right....at the end of January will be the next Craft & Hobby Association Convention in Anaheim, California. Now's the time to get with your local scrapbook stores and let them know about La-La Land Crafts so they can scope us out at CHA and bring our stamps to their stores!!

If you haven't been to the LLLC Store in a while, you may have missed some of the new things Irina has added. You should head on over and check out the "OTHER" section... Cupid Marci Heart Shaped Box

I am so very happy with the way my project came out!! This project features one of our NEW stamps CUPID MARCI! Cupid Marci stamp comes with TWO Sentiments too, I used one of them today. I made the heart shaped box using Heartland America Large Die by Cheery Lynn Designs for the top and the bottom of the box. This is actually a set of TWO dies - one is the intricate heart doily die and the other one is the background layer (which can be used on it's own as well if desired)!!. LOOOOVE it!!

On the top of the box there is another die from Cheery Lynn - Fanciful Flourish. VERY pretty!!

This is my sample for our NEW Digi Scene - Lil' Rocker Luka and Ruffles Marci. The Scene was colored with Prismacolor Pencils on Craft Cardstock. Instead of a card, I used a frame for Ikea to mount the scene on. It is looking super awesome sitting on my craft desk!!

Prismacolor Pencils WORKSHOP with Irina

Coloring with pencils has always intrigued me. I of course remember coloring when I was a child. Oh!! I was so in love with my pencil collection!! Now I feel like I am back to those happy times!!

I took an online class with Marti and have learned a lot. What I learned the most though is that I really need to do my own thing. I tried many different coloring techniques to see what fits my style the best. I had to try so many different papers to come up with my favorites. I have a limited number of pencils, so I had to come up with my own color combinations.

I am happy with my coloring now!! And, I feel confident enough to teach you too!!

~ Prismacolor Pencils WORKSHOP ~

When: Sunday, November 20th, 11 am to 5 pm

Where: Scrapbook Island (crop room), San Jose, CA

Here is what we will cover in this Workshop:

- How to choose the right paper.

At the workshop you will receive a cinch-binded notebook with three different types of paper.

- Basics of coloring with pencils

- Layering Colors

- Blending

- Color Combinations

- Coloring Skin Tones and Hair Colors

- Coloring Backgrounds (grass, clouds, etc.)

- we will touch up on coloring on Craft cardstock too!!

This was a tough challenge, especially since there are different shades of MAUVE. Some shades have a pinkish undertone and some more lavender. No matter what though, we all persevered and our awesome DT came up with some beautiful and gorgeous cards!!
