Tutorial Thursday: Candy Book

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to another Tutorial Thursday on the La-La Land Crafts Blog!
Martha here with you.
Today I have a super sweet Book Box to share with you that you can fill with Halloween goodies!

Here is the box I created using these LLLC products

So cute Right??
Okay lets get started Creating this sweet box!

You will need

2 Pieces of Cardstock
One @ 7 5/8 x 5 3/4
One at 3 1/4 x 6 1/2

Paper Trimmer

Score Board

Patterned Paper (I used the adorable Patterned Paper from our SEPTEMBER 2017 Halloween Card/Project Kit )

Stamps/Dies

Vellum
1 @ 3 x 2

Strong Adhesive

Step One

Place your 7 5/8 x 5 3/4 piece of cardstock on the Score Board in the landscape mode

Score @ 2 5/8, 3 5/8, 6 1/4, 7 1/4

Step Two

Turn your Cardstock so that its in Portrait mode and
Score @ 1/2, 1 1/2, 4 5/8

Step Three

Fold and burnish all your Score Lines

Im showing you how to create the box on white Cardstock because its easier to See and Follow

All the places that are scribbled need to be completely cut away and the places that have the black lines just need to be cut up.

This is what you should end up with

Step Four

Lets cut the circle out for the aperture inside the box

For this I used the second one in from the outside from the Double Stitched Circles Die

Place the Die as shown below and run it thru your Die cutting Machine

Step Five

Flip your cardstock to the backside and adhere your Vellum
as Shown

This is what it should look like

Step Six

Bring the small 1/2 inch flap over to the other end and attach with strong adhesive.
(We Switched back to the white because I forgot to Photograph this step with the orange cardstock)

This what you should have now.

Step Seven

Lets close up the  bottom of the box,  you will know its the bottom, because it has Four flaps and the top has Three.

Place adhesive on the top of the two smaller side

Fold in the front Flap, add adhesive to the bottom of the remaining flap.

This should Close up Your Box.

Step Eight

Okay now lets make the Cover for the Box, the "Book Part"

Place your 6 1/2 x 3 1/4 Cardstock on the Landscape side in your Score Board.
Score @ 2 3/4, 3 3/4
Fold and Burnish your Score Lines

Before you attach the box to the inside of the Book lets add our layers

My layers measured

Purple Cardstock 2@ 2 1/2 x 3, 1 @ 3/4 x 2 3/4
Patterned Paper 2 @ 2 1/4 x 2 3/4, 1 @ 1/2 x 2 1/2

Now lets put them together!!

Add Adhesive to the inside of the Book on the spine and the right hand side panel
As shown Below.

Your Done!

Step Nine

Now all we need to do is decorate it!

I used the adorable Panda Bear from the Halloween Critters and some of our Halloween Dies
For this sweet box.

Hope you enjoyed!!
